Sport in the ATC

In sport there are great opportunities for all cadets.  It doesn't matter if you are good, bad or indifferent, you get the chance to participate - and to enjoy yourself !

Athletics   is the most popular sport in the ATC, with competition at all levels.  The main events are:
100m, 200m, 400m, 800m & 1500m and 4x100m Relay plus the High Jump, Long Jump, Javelin, Discus and Shot Putt

Football   Football competitions run at Junior and Senior levels.  Regions operate tournaments, with Wings competing against each other and so on up to Corps level, where Cadets can compete against other Cadet Services and other teams - sometimes to International level.

Rugby   is played by male cadets only at all levels and games are normally played in late autumn to early winter, with the Corps games being in the early New Year.

Hockey   is played in the ATC by female cadets only, and can be competed at Wing, right up to Corps level.  Most Wings hold tournaments where the cadets for the Wing, Region and Corps teams will be selected.

Netball   is also played only by female cadets, and players can progress all the way through to Corps level.  The competition at Squadron level is normally open age group, but once at Wing level and beyond, it is split into Junior and Senior girls.

Cross-Country   is competed at by Junior and Senior Girls, and Junior, Youth and Senior Boys.  The courses are normally in-between a mile and a half to three miles, and the sport is competed at all levels, right up to Corps.

Swimming   is played in 4 age groups - Junior & Senior Girls, and Junior & Senior Boys, and the events participated in are:
Freestyle,   Back Stroke,   Breast Stroke,   Butterfly,   Individual Medley,   Medley Relay  and   Freestyle Relay
