RAF Camps

Each year, at Easter and during the Summer and Autumn periods, cadets in the ATC are given the opportunity to attend an Annual Camp at an RAF Station.  This is a week long visit to an RAF unit in the United Kingdom, where the cadet live and experience the day-to-day life of the regular personnel in an RAF environment.  It is also an excellent opportunity to meet new friends and have a lot of fun.  Cadets are shown around the unit and told all about what each section does, and they can also do work experience in these sections during the camp period.

Older cadets can also be selected to visit overseas camps in Cyprus and Gibraltar.  These camps are more relaxed than the UK camps because of the greater experience of the cadets.  They concentrate less on drill and inspections and more on the other aspects of camp, such as gaining work experience with RAF personnel, visiting local sites of historic and/or military interest.

The basic aim of these UK and Overseas camps is to allow cadets to experience, first hand, life and conditions on an RAF station . . . and these camps are available to every cadet in the Corps !
